Pet Dog Ambassador Program
Canine Fine LLC will be starting new curriculum for companion dogs in April, 2018. Pet dog skills for the real world – beyond sit and down that every pet guardian can use.
What is the Pet Dog Ambassador Program?
The Pet Dog Ambassador (PDA) is a program for dog guardians to test their knowledge, skills and ability to manage their canine companion in real life settings. This is a wonderful program developed by the Pet Professional Guild*. Its aim is to acknowledge the hard work and commitment that guardians and their dogs undertake to make their shared lives enjoyable. It recognizes these efforts from a puppy’s very early training. The program aims to encourage guardians to continue training and developing new skills, abilities and knowledge.
Who Can Participate?
We are excited to begin utilizing PDA as our pet companion obedience curriculum. Dogs as young as 4 months can begin their PDA journey working up through the levels to have an amazing dog you can take anywhere with you.
You can start in one of two places:
PDA Level 1 = puppies 4-6 months old at start of class
Or
PDA Level 2 = any dog over 6 months at the start of class (this level is for rescued dogs, newly adopted dogs or the dog in your house you want to do something new with.)
Each level is 8 weeks long with the last week being your formal assessment if applicable. We love all things about the PDA program and we encourage you to partake in the full program. That includes enrolling as a team on the PDA website and getting assessed for the recognition. However, you do not have to enroll in the PDA program to take our class or to move up the levels. PPG partners, members and affiliates focus on each pet’s physical, mental, environmental and nutritional well-being adhering to a holistic approach to the care and training of family pets.
