Dog Obedience/Life Skills/Manners Coaching
Canine Fine Obedience Classes focus on helping your dog make good choices. Our classes work at your dog’s pace and moving to the next level is based on demonstrated mastery of the behaviors.
Currently all classes are taught at Canine Athletics Training Center in Longmont. Go to their website to view the upcoming schedule.
Basic Manners: Teaches basic manners skills, including Auto Check-in, Sit, Down, Leave It, and more!
Advanced Manners (CGC Prep): Builds on basic skills by challenging dogs to perform these skills in close proximity to other dogs and people. Loose leash walking and come when called skills are introduced. Graduation requirements include doing behaviors with treats given intermittently.
This level is geared toward achieving the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) designation. We incorporate fun games to help you and your dog understand how all life cues work together. Though this class is not mandatory for taking the CGC Evaluation it can fill in a few gaps and give the team confidence to pass. CGC is a stepping stone to Therapy Dog animal-assisted therapy work. CGC testing is done at any time a team is ready.
