Stuff it, Freeze it, Share and Repeatimages-1

Join the trainers from Canine Fine LLC at The Paw Market on Saturday March 18th from 4pm – 5pm for a fun community event: How to stuff a Kong!

Anytime some one checks out a Kong in the retail section we often get asked ‘why’ is this so popular.  Then they admit their dog doesn’t like it much.   When we inquire, “What do you stuff in it?” and get rewarded a blank stare we smile and nod. We love being able to educate our clients!

kong-actionDon’t get us wrong, a Kong is fine by itself.  Some dogs are very good about playing with them, tossing them and amusing themselves. But the intent of the product is a toy that can be stuffed, tugged (with rope attached), and chewed (releases dopamine). So to get the most out of this toy you have purchased, stuff it, freeze it and let your dog reap the benefits of an extra special treat. We use frozen Kongs for everything from crate training/soothing, mid-day snack, reward after class in the car ride home, to solve behavior issues, and the best reason of all – just because!

dog-kong-toy-by-OakleyOriginalsWe will spend an hour talking about what works well in a Kong.  You will also learn how to clean them, how often to give them and more. The possibilities are endless. You may also share your favorite stuffing tips along the way. So if you have one at home and don’t know how to make it more worthy for your dog to use, sign up for this seminar. Your dog would do it for you but he doesn’t have thumbs. Or a credit card!

Cost includes a variety of ingredients to make your own customer stuffed Kong (included -size appropriate for your dog).  Feel free to bring any Kong’s you have at home and use any of the left over stuffing materials to experiment!
