Dog Obedience Coaching

All training is done one on one with a few exceptions such as Canine Good Citizen prep.

Pet Dog Ambassador (PDA) program is a program for dog guardians to test their knowledge, skills and ability to manage their canine companion(s) in real life settings.  The aim of these levels is to acknowledge the hard work and commitment that guardians and their dogs undertake to make their shared lives enjoyable. 5 levels will give you ever expanding skills from level 1 (for puppies) up to level 5 Championship.

You will start at either:

PDA1 – Puppies 4-9 months

PDA2 – dogs over 9 months

Pet Dog Ambassador Level 1 (Puppy 4-9 months – great to add after taking Puppy K) Dogs, like people, learn best when they are young. That is why we love to see puppies reach their first pet dog training goal early. We cover all the basics of sit, down, stand, place, leash walking, and recall.  Enroll your puppy into the Pet Dog Ambassador Level 1 now.

Pet Dog Ambassador Level 2 (any dog over the age of nine months or completion of PDA1) builds on the work undertaken at Level 1. It is at a level where those who did not undertake Level 1 because they did not fit the age bracket can still have an easy entry into the program.  Both ends of the leash matter in this class, it is as much about coaching the guardian as the guardian teaching the dog.  We cover all the same from PDA 1 including emergency stop, leave it and more social setups showing the dog what is expected.

Pet Dog Ambassador Level 3 To provide dog Guardians with more advanced knowledge of force-free dog training and Guardian responsibility. The foundation skills assessed in Level 2 are extended and built upon and put into real-life situations in Level 3.

Pet Dog Ambassador Level 4 builds further on the dogs’ and Guardians’ skills, knowledge and ability and culminate in assessments both in real-life settings and in the class situation. The aim is to produce a Guardian and dog team who demonstrate their ability to undertake increasingly more complex real-life skills in real-life situations.

Level 5 (Championship) This level is where everything the dog and Guardian have learned is put to the test in real-life settings. There are location options available to help assessors make real-life training relevant to their clients. Assessors will be able to create scenarios that may be appropriate to their local surroundings provided they include all of the compulsory exercises and two from the selection of optional exercises.

AKC Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) Prep

This level is geared toward achieving the American Kennel Club (AKC) Canine Good Citizen® (CGC) designation. We incorporate fun games to help you and your dog understand how all life cues work together. Though this class is not mandatory for taking the CGC Evaluation it can fill in a few gaps and give the team confidence to pass. CGC is a stepping stone to Therapy Dog animal-assisted therapy work.

TEAM Level 1

TEAM Level 1 workshop will begin to teach you the steps to the dance that is competitive obedience or rally. Whether or not you plan to compete, training higher-level obedience is great for cooperation in real life, relationship building and as a mental/physical outlet for your dog!

TEAM is an acronym for “Training Excellence Assessment Modules,” which perfectly describes our goal; a progression-oriented titling program that emphasizes excellence in training. This is an obedience titling program consisting of 6 levels. You can be titled through video submission only which takes much stress off you and your dog by not attending an in-person event. Full details may be found at http://fenziteamtitles.com/why-title-with-team/. Included in this class is the option for video submission assistance and can be done whenever the team is ready (typically takes new dogs longer than 6 weeks).
